Company history

Eurobike stands for long-term experience in tourism and specialises in cycling holidays. We would like to give you a brief summary of our company and important mile-stones in our development.

1991

In spring 1991 Walter Schmid and Herbert Würtinger considered the option of again working together in terms of „cycling holidays“. Many discussions and negotiations with potential partners and competitors finally resulted in the foundation of the profit centre “Cycling Holidays” within the Würtinger & Partner GmbH.

1992

In 1992 the first Eurobike-catalogue went to print. Our first self-operated tour was the „10-Lake-Tour“. 576 bookings during the first season 1993.

1993

In 1993 an own company was founded – company name “Eurofun Touristik” with the product name “Eurobike” for the profit centre “Cycling Holidays”.

1995

In August 1995 former mother company „Würtinger & Partner“ closed the doors in Franking-Holzöster and hunting for new offices started. The final decision was taken for Obertrum am See in Mühlstraße 20: an old farm rented.

A continuous growth during the coming years in terms of bookings as well as tours marked the coming years.

2001

In 2001 expansion was due: Eurofun took a share of 26% in the „Bodensee Radweg Service GmbH“and after some negotiations the cycling holiday operator “Rückenwind Reisen” in Oldenburg/Germany was bought per 1.1.2002. Managing Director is Mr. Dietmar Baumanns.

2002

In 2002 the farm Mühlstraße 20 in Obertrum was purchased, reconstructed and generously adapted to house the offices and bicycle store. Moving day was 21st August 2003 and until December also the old part of the farm house was ready.

2004

„Eurohike“ was founded in 2004 to service the growing demand for hiking holidays.
