With MS Jelmar.
We are pleased to present you with MS Jelmar a boat which was renovated in 2006/2007. Due to that we are able to guarantee a certain comfort and quality on the classic routes in northern and southern Holland. MS Jelmar offers 10 beautiful cabins with two beds at ground level and own bathroom with shower/toilet. Come on board and enjoy! You will feel the “additional quality” immediately. In groups with a maximum of 20 persons we offer Holland tours in the original sense: on a small river boat in familiar and comfortable atmosphere. The skipper and his wife are taking good care of you. A holiday on MS Jelmar is a bike- and boat tour in the Netherlands to feel good and to enjoy!
Tour course
Day 1: Arrival to Amsterdam
Individual arrival to Amsterdam. Embarkation from 2 to 5 p.m. in the near of the main train station at museum Nemo.
Day 2: Amsterdam – Hoorn approx. 40 km
You go by ship to the Oranje Watergate which is the gate to Ijsselmeer. By bike you continue along the coast or via the island of Marken and by ferry to Volendam. Via Edam you reach the harbour city of Hoorn.
Day 3: Hoorn – Medemblik approx. 45 km
After breakfast you cycle to Enkhuizen and visit the beautiful Zuiderzee museum. Afterwards you continue to Medemblik with the palace Radboud.
Day 4: Medemblik – Oudeschild approx. 40 km
By ship you go from Ijsselmeer and Waddenzee to the island Texel. Discover the island by bike or enjoy your day on the beach.
Day 5: Oudeschild – Den Helder approx. 40 km
Before you cruise by boat or ferry (not included) to the mainland and the harbour of Den Helder, you cycle towards the south of Texel to explore the diversified fauna.
Day 6: Den Helder – Alkmaar approx. 55 km
Through the typical landscape of the North Sea Coast you cycle to Bergen and on to the picturesque old city of Alkmaar.
Day 7: Alkmaar – Amsterdam approx. 25 km
By ship you continue to Zaandam where you can visit the open-air museum Zaanse Schans. Afterwards you cycle back to Amsterdam.
Day 8: Individual trip home or additional nights
Route features
Easy bike tour in flat terrain, no noteworthy climbs or with shorter daily stages which can be managed also from untrained cyclists.
