landscapes, well-known cities, many highlights – southern route! You
visit by bike & boat famous historic cities, picturesque villages
and beautiful landscapes in the surprising diversified green heart of
Holland. Highlights are for example Amsterdam with beautiful canals,
dome city Utrecht, harbor city Rotterdam, Delft with famous porcelain
manufacture, cheese city Gouda, the windmills in Kinderdijk, silver city
Schoonhoven, the historic old city of Haarlem, the dunes, the North Sea
coast and open air museum Zaanse Schans. The southern route is the
perfect tour to discover diversified green areas in a region with many
little rivers and lakes and numerous places of interest as well as
beautiful old cities.

Tour course
Day 1: Arrival and embarkation Amsterdam
Embarkation starts at 2 p.m. in Amsterdam. First exploration of the old city, shopping, museum visit or a boat tour through the canals (discounted tickets are available on board, possible until 10 p.m.). That way you explore the capital city of the Netherlands in a unique way.
Day 2: Cruise Amsterdam – Breukele, Breukelen – Utrecht approx. 30-40 km, cruise Utrecht – Rotterdam
Your first bike tour starts in Breukelen along the beautiful small river Vecht. You will see wonderful villas, country houses and small palaces. Along the river to the city centre of dome city Utrecht. In the afternoon cruise to harbour city Rotterdam. In the evening short city tour.
Day 3: Rotterdam – Schiedam – Delft – Rotterdam approx. 40 km, cruise Rotterdam – Dordrecht
Bike tour, for example via the city of Schiedam and through Delfland to Delft. Visit the wonderful old city with small canals and picturesque cities, bridges and alleys. For many guests the visits of the porcelain factory is a highlight of this journey. During dinner cruise to Dordrecht. Arrival around 8 p.m.
Day 4: Cruise Dordrecht – Kinderdijk, Kinderdijk – Schoonhoven approx. 30-50 km
Cruise from Dordrecht to Kinderdijk or optional bike tour already from Gouda through the flat, silent landscape. Visit Kinderdijk (UNESCO world cultural heritage) with 19 wind mills in a row. You continue by bike to silver city Schoonhoven, which is located on river Lek.
Day 5: Schoonhoven – Oudewater – Utrecht approx. 50 km, cruise Utrecht – Beverwijk
Bike tour from Schoonhoven through the wonderful „green heart of Holland“ via Oudewater (visit the witches scale) to Utrecht. In the late afternoon cruise to Beverwijk.
Day 6: Beverwijk – North Sea Coast – Haarlem– Beverwijk approx. 35-50 km, cruise Beverwijk– Zaandam
Today you have the choice between two loop tours which both lead to Haarlem: A longer tour leads through wonderful dune area, via Bloemendaal and Zandvoort along the North Sea to Haarlem. A shorter tour leads through the heartland directly to the wonderful city Haarlem. In the evening cruise to Zaandam.
Day 7: Zaandam – Amsterdam approx. 30 km
Bike tour from Zaandam to the museum village „Zaanse Schans“ (wind mills, Dutch village, clog production, cheese farm) and through the local recreation area “Twiske” to Amsterdam. Afternoon and evening in the capital city.
Day 8: Individual trip home
Route features
To travel by bike is maybe the best possibility to experience Holland. It is an Eldorado for cyclists. Many thousands kilometers of good bike paths allow interesting and relaxing tours. Holland is also water land: nearly every famous city and many places of interest are reachable via waterway. Our comfortable boats are cruising through the beautiful, small canals and rivers.
