Fit as a fiddle

How our employees stay fit in winter

When temperatures drop and the days get shorter, it’s time to give the bike a well-deserved winter break. But if you believe you must also take a break from sport, you’re wrong. Because our sport-loving Eurobike ladies keep fit even in the cold season. This way they not only stay in shape mentally and physically, but also start the new cycling season full of motivation.

In this blog post, they tell us how they keep fit in winter.

Whether sun or snow, sport is the way for our Marcella

In my spare time, I like being out in nature, whether on my stand-up paddle board in summer or on a sled in winter. In winter I especially like to take long walks in the beautiful scenery of the Salzburg mountains. The fresh air always gives me an energy boost and I can recharge my batteries. I love doing yoga all year round and that’s why I end 2019 with 108 sun salutations. Yoga keeps me fit in winter and I also manage to relax while performing the asanas.

Sun + ski touring: the perfect combination for Maddalena

In winter I lack the motivation to get physically active. However, this is usually only the case until Christmas, after which I feel guilty and pack my ski touring equipment to go to the nearest mountain, usually the Zwölferhorn in St Gilgen. If I have enough time I start with one lap. But I need good weather, otherwise the urge to stay on the comfortable couch wins easily.

Action is the plan for mum Lisa and son Paul

How do I keep myself fit in winter? This question is answered by my son Paul, who persuades me to go on early morning sled rides. After that, of course a snowman has to be built, but not just any snowman, the largest in the neighbourhood. In the afternoon he learns skiing. Almost every day he slides down the hill, with a few falls and lets his mum carry him back up again. Believe me, this programme keeps you fit.

Hannah says: “I like to be in the mountains!”

My favourite winter sport as a true Austrian is of course skiing! A morning on the slopes, high above the clouds with bright sunshine and a sweeping panorama. You can take a deep breath so high up and forget stressful daily life for a moment. In my opinion there is simply nothing better on a beautiful winter day. It is so beautiful, so easy and you also do something good for yourself and your body.

There is no bad weather for Sabine – only bad clothes

Even in winter, for me the best place is on the back of a horse. It’s the best place to switch off and recharge your batteries after a hard day’s work. Of course, it is most beautiful when the sun is shining, when the snow sparkles and the snow-covered forests are peaceful. But even when the weather is not so great, the horse needs to exercise. So I spend a lot of time out in the fresh air, keeping fit.

Sarah enjoys winter in nature

When the snow trickles softly and envelopes the landscape in soft white, I like to head outdoors. Whether skiing, ice skating or building a snowman – I enjoy spending time outdoors. So I can really switch off, the body gets going and I can refill my vitamin D reserves with a bit of luck. And after a wonderful winter day of ice skating or in ski boots, the mulled wine tastes even better! 😉
