We look forward to welcoming you and handing over your rental bike to you. A stroll through Zittau’s old town will get you in the mood for your tour.

Your tour begins in the region of Oberlausitz. Cycle along the romantic Neisse to Ostritz. You can visit Germany’s oldest Cistercian convent there. Today’s destination is the medieval town of Görlitz.

Cycle through Rothenburg, Germany’s small city closest to the Polish border, to Bad Muskau. Enjoy the ride through idyllic surroundings on your way to the spa town. The Prince Pückler Park was laid out by count Hermann of Pückler-Muskau in 1815-1845.

Today’s leg of the tour takes you along the border to Brandenburg and Forst, the “city of roses and cloth-makers”. On your way to Guben you will pass huge craters left behind due to brown coal mining.

Most of today’s stretch takes you north along the ‘Oberdamm’ to Frankfurt/Oder. Cycle through Eisenhüttenstadt (known for its iron and steel production) and the Polish town of Cybinka/Zebingen.

The bicycle trail leads you into the Oderbruch delta. The man-made delta was created over 250 years ago for settlers. Leaving the Oder, cycle west to Bad Freienwalde. The spa town is the oldest in Mark Brandenburg and has a historic town centre. The classical castle and park designed by Lenné is worth seeing.

Further on down the Oder is the national park, Unteres Odertal. The unique river landscape awaits you. Visit the fortified tower from the 12th century, the ‘Grützpott’, for a great view of the Oder valley.

Find out about the regional cultivation of tobacco in Vierraden. Continue through the Oder valley until you reach Mecklenburg-Pomerania.

The last leg of your tour takes you through Löcknitz and on the Oder Lagoon Bicyle Trail to Ueckermünde. It would be worth your while to visit the lagoon museum.

Today your beautiful bicycle round trip comes to an end, we recommend extending your stay.

Tour character

Mostly the route is flat on cycle paths and quiet country roads, mostly near the river. The route runs continuously on official cycle paths.
