Rhine, Ahr und Erft

The three rivers tour.

Your start this tour in Bonn, the city of Beethoven and mountains Siebengebirge are leading you along the romantic river Rhine. River Ahr flows into river Rhine and you continue through the valley of Ahrtal, which is a paradise for people who love red wine. We really recommend tasting the wine in one of the numerous Heuriger. You still follow the river Ahr to its spring in Blankenheim and afterwards you continue along river Erft which leads you through the Rhenish bay. On your way there are numerous palaces, fortresses and manors which want to be visited.

Bonn is awaiting you with lots of places of interest.

Enjoy the views to mountains Siebengebirge and cycle along romantic river Rhine which inspired already numerous painters and poets. You should plan a stop in the city of Königswinter (beautiful promenade) and at Germany’s oldest cog railway which leads you up to the top of mountain Drachenfels.

You start into the valley of Ahrtal where the river flows into the Rhine. Pass the well-known Apollinaris spring before you reach the health resort of Bad Neuenahr. Your tour leads you slightly uphill into the region of Nordeifel to the Ahr spring to Blankenheim, where you stay in your hotel. Enjoy your ride on disused railway tracks and through forests. We recommend making a detour into the nature park of valley Lemperstal – it is a highlight along the river Ahr bike path.

After a short stage you cycle downhill to the spring of river Erft which is located in Holzmülheim. You continue along the river to Bad Münstereifel where the medieval city centre awaits you with numerous museums and cafes. Along a few water mills you continue to Euskirchen where you stay overnight.
