Along the Catalan coast.

Empordà has its own personality. The Catalan artist Salvador Dali was born here, and the landscape inspired him. The route leads you through fascinating vineyards, along the Costa Brava, through the city of Figueres as well as through the national park Aiguammolls de l’Empordà… simply the best of Empordà!The route starts in Girona, a wonderful old city with a lot of sights worth visiting. Then your way leads on to the Costa Brava and finally to L’Estartit. L’Estartit is a nice small town near the beach, next to the Medas islands, which is a real paradise for divers. Your round trip leads you to “La Gola del Ter” (the maw of the Ter), the water mouth of river Ter into the Mediterranean Sea and to several small medieval villages. From L’Escala you follow the coastline to Roses. The Mediterranean Sea is on your right side and you cycle along the bay of Roses which is one of the most beautiful experiences someone can have at the Costa Brava. Enjoy the promenade, the beach, the citadel as well as the lighthouse in Roses. You can visit the wine museum and taste the wines. Finally you cycle through vineyards, olive groves and alongside the last extensions of the Pyrenees. On your last day you continue through small and very old villages on to Figueres. Enjoy the impressing view onto the Pyrenees, for sure the best way to end this journey.
