Allow yourself to wander through the enchanting old town of Münster before embarking on the first leg of your journey to Schöppingen. Along the way, you'll encounter attractions such as the moated castle of Burg Hülshoff and the picturesque village of Eggerode. The route takes you through characteristic heathland scenery towards the Dutch border and the nature reserve of Zwillbrocker Venn.

Continuing from Bocholt, your journey leads to Coesfeld, home to the Stephanus Adventure Brewery, and onward to Lüdinghausen. As you make your way back to Münster, you'll encounter various castles, including the grand Nordkirchen Castle, before finally leisurely returning to your starting point.

  • Enjoy the student atmosphere in Münster: Distinguished by its delightful blend of historic architecture, verdant parks, and vibrant ambiance, this picturesque old town, with its winding alleyways and historic buildings, beckons exploration. Meanwhile, the Aasee lake and promenade provide tranquil nature escapes amidst the urban bustle.
  • An abundance of castles and fortresses along the route: Nordkirchen Castle is undoubtedly one of the standout attractions on this journey. However, there are numerous other historic landmarks along the route, including the moated castle of Burg Hülshoff, the baroque castle of Vreden, and the castles of Vischering and Kakesbeck.
  • Enjoying flamingos in the Zwillbrocker Venn: The nature reserve is renowned for its distinctive flora and fauna, particularly its sizable colony of pink-hued flamingos, which breed there. The fen comprises marshlands, salt lakes, and reed beds, serving as a crucial habitat for various bird species and other rare plants and animals.

The "Pättkes" are paths or trails, characteristic of the region, winding through rural landscapes. They are favored by hikers and cyclists for their scenic views and avoidance of main roads. Each day covers between 50 and 65 kilometers, with routes predominantly flat and easily navigable.
