Eurofun company outing 2018

Behind the scenes of our excursion

With the successful conclusion of the season comes that time of year again: the annual company outing! Where did we go? That was a mystery at the beginning. It was supposed to be a city in Italy, where some trips of all three Eurofun brands intersect. The ideas soon came in thick and fast. We would go to Merano!

Fantastic hiking on Marlinger Waalweg

The anticipation was palpable, also because this year more employees than ever before accepted the invitation. It took place on October 25. With Eurofun busses filled with 36 motivated employees we made our way to South Tyrol.

After four hours of driving, which thanks to our bus DJs, went by in a flash, we reached the village of Lana. At the cable car station we parked the busses and laced up our hiking boots. We went along the Marlinger Waalweg in the direction of Merano on foot. The beautiful hiking trail, which had gentle up and downhill sections, was one of the highlights of our trip.

South Tyrolean delicacies

After just an hour’s walk, our stomachs started rumbling and we entered the Leitenschenke Tscherms, where we were treated to South Tyrolean ‘Marende’ and various sweet treats. Nourished, we continued along the path lined with countless grape vines, and always admiring a magnificent view over the Adige Valley to Meran. There they gave us a warm welcome at our long-standing partner hotel Flora.

In the evening we met again for a group meal. A leisurely walk along the Passer promenade and through Laubengasse Merans finally took us up to the Tappeinerweg. Here, the restaurant Saxifraga offered a fantastic view of Meran by night, and excellent culinary delights. The short ascent was quickly forgotten and the conclusion of a successful travel season was celebrated into the night.

On to the Reschensee!

The next day some of us were up early, but some had a lie in. The former made their way to the market in Merano to pick up another souvenir from South Tyrol. The second lot enjoyed a quiet morning at the rich breakfast buffet. At 11 o’clock we continued with our programme. On to Reschensee!

So we packed our bags and hopped onto the Eurofun busses in a good mood. Through the Vinschgau we then went to the sunken church tower of Graun.

A short walk along the Reschensee led us to Giernhof, where we enjoyed the winter garden and a fantastic view of the lake and surrounding mountains. We were spoiled with homemade spinach, cheese and bacon dumplings and the icing on top was a fresh apple pie for dessert! That’s how to live! 😉

Full and happy we made our way home to Obertrum am See. A beautiful company outing had come to an end.

Once again we would like to sincerely thank all those who always go out of their way to organise such great team activities. Once again, you have created unique moments we will all remember for a long time to come!
