On the day of your arrival, explore the "Bavarian Sea" before the tour takes you first via the imposing Hohenaschau Castle to Walchsee in Austria. The beautiful promenade in the tranquil town invites you to stroll and swim. Ruhpolding sounds familiar? Perhaps from the annual Biathlon World Cup. Enjoy the warm water in the Rupertus-Therme in Bad Reichenhall before the 4th stage takes you to Berchtesgaden and the popular Königssee.
As if that were not enough, the route leads to the Mozart city of Salzburg. Whether Mozartkugel, Kaiserschmarrn or Wiener Schnitzel - in addition to the numerous sights, a proper snack should not be neglected. In 1818, the song "Silent Night" was sung for the first time in Oberndorf, the stage destination on day 5. Back at Lake Chiemsee, you still have a round trip around the beautiful body of water, which invites you to swim and enjoy.
The "Chiemgau highlights" of the tour
Herreninsel and Fraueninsel on the Chiemsee: So different and yet somehow connected. Each of the islands has its very own history. While a castle sits enthroned on Herrenchiemsee, the Benedictine nuns ran a convent on Frauenchiemsee.
Impressive Alpine panorama: Wherever you cast your gaze, the mountains provide simply perfect natural scenery on this tour. There's something calming and exhilarating about admiring the sunset over the mountains in the evening after completing a stage.
The Watzmann above the Königssee: It is certainly one of the most beautiful lakes in Germany. Its backdrop makes it something very special. Visit the small church of St. Bartholomä, hike to the Obersee and take a trip by electric boat.
The Mozart city of Salzburg is always worth a visit, whether you've been before or are a newbie. A hike to the Hohensalzburg Fortress or strolling through the Getreidegasse - or why not just do both?

Tour character
Overall a slightly hilly route with few steep ascents. Beautiful routing on cycle paths and calm side roads. Very short sections on streets with more traffic.
