Arrival in Sa Coma
Transfer to the hotel in Sa Coma. We recommend an initial stroll along the promenade.
In the morning, you have a welcome briefing and bike fitting. A comfortable cycle tour via Sant Llorenc (church Santa Maria del Bellver dating back to the 13th century), through the picturesque hinterland of the island. Lovely designed and maintained paths take you to Artà. There are several alleys leading up the hill where this little town was built. Enjoy a unique panoramic view from the pilgrimage church Sant Salvador onto the surrounding coastline, hilly landscape, almond plantations and olive groves. Soon you return to the coast and the hotel.
Cycle via the sleepy village of Son Carrio to Manacor. Here you find the factories producing the famous artificial pearls, called ‚Majoricas’. Countless little shops offer souvenirs and hand-made ceramic everyday objects. Via Petra (typical Majorcan lunch snack will be prepared) and Santa Margalida through one of the most enchanting landscapes of the island to C’an Picafort.
No need to pack your bags today, yet again. You spend another night in C’an Picafort. The cycle tour takes you through the nature reserve S’Albufera to the bay of Pollenca with its Roman harbour. Along the coastal path into the oldest town on the island Alcúdia and then back to C’an Picafort.
Wonderful paths lead you along the World Cultural Heritage site Tramuntanas. This amazing mountain range serves as a backdrop for this valley lined by olive groves. The especially diverse limestone caves of Campanet are well worth a visit. Blending into the rural surroundings is also your accommodation for the next two days. You spend the night in one of the so-called Hotel Rurales, which ooze special charm and are kept and run in the traditional Finca-style.
Today’s tour takes you around the Puig de Inca, approx. 300 metres in height. You cycle through orange plantations and olive groves to countless Majorcan villages, their typical stone walls and village squares are the perfect places for a break. We recommend you definitely have a stop in the winegrowers village of Binissalem. This is the place where the most famous Majorcan wines are pressed and can be sampled in various Bodegas.
A day of contrasts. Your tour starts in the rural hinterland and leads you through sleepy little villages. As soon as, however, you reach the coast, the island is awake and pulsating along the Playa. A wide variety of restaurants and leisure activities provide an entertaining final day of this holiday.
The terrain along the route is overall slightly hilly without any longer ascents. You cycle on side roads, rural tracks and also on cycle paths, always with as little traffic as possible. Nearly the entire route is on tarmac.
