Copenhagen – Stockholm

Denmark’s capital welcomes you with a cosmopolitan atmosphere, exciting architecture, and a cozy, “hygge” way of life. Depending on your arrival time, you can take your first stroll or watch the hustle and bustle over a cup of coffee.

You will leave Copenhagen and cycle through fragrant forests, past stunning countryside, and along the beaches of the Øresund as you head north. In Helsingør, be sure not to miss Kronborg Castle. Then you’ll take the ferry to Helsingborg on the Swedish side.

After breakfast, take the train to Falkenberg, one of the oldest towns in Halland. From here, your bike tour begins along the west coast, passing through picturesque fishing villages and small artisan workshops. In Träslövsläge, take a break to enjoy freshly caught lobster. In the late afternoon, you’ll reach Varberg with its imposing fortress.

Today, the sea accompanies you only on the first leg of the route. Then, quiet paths lead you inland past horse farms and fields. Finally, you will reach Kungsbacka, once a trading center with a beautiful old town.

You will leave Kungsbacka and cycle north through lush forests, past coves and small harbors. Särö is a great spot for a short break. Today’s stage ends in the bustling center of Gothenburg. Enjoy the atmosphere at the harbor or visit the Maritiman Experience Museum.

After breakfast, you’ll take the train to Stockholm with your luggage. In the afternoon, you’ll have time for a stroll through the Old Town.

Cycling along Lake Mälaren—Sweden’s third-largest lake—you’ll head to the island of Lovön, where Drottningholm Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, awaits you. Take time to explore this beautiful structure with its magnificent lakeside setting, and visit the exotic little “China Palace,” the palace theater, and the wonderful palace park. You’ll continue cycling over bridges and along the waterfront to Södermalm. This former working-class neighborhood is now home to hipsters and designers. On the way back to Stockholm, you’ll also pass through the Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its cobblestone alleys, crooked houses, and inviting cafés.
