The day starts with a gentle bike path leading you into the countryside. Soon, expansive panoramas unfold over olive groves and cork oak forests. From Vila Flor, you’ll glide down through vineyards and past ancient dry-stone walls. After a long descent, you’ll reach the Sabor River and follow it alongside terraced vineyards all the way to the Douro’s mouth. Take a refreshing pause at a riverside beach before leaving the water’s edge to continue toward Torre de Moncorvo. The panoramic road to Pocinho and the spectacular vineyards along the way to Vila Nova de Foz Côa are sure to leave a lasting impression.

In the morning, you’ll cycle gently uphill along a panoramic road, flanked by endless vineyards, almond trees, and olive groves. After two steeper climbs, pause to take in the breathtaking views—the Douro River stretches below, framed by its iconic wine terraces. On a delightful descent, glide into the atmospheric town of Pinhão, nestled right on the riverbank. Its charming promenade offers a warm welcome.

The cycling route winds through sun-drenched wine terraces into the interior before a long descent brings you back to the Douro’s riverside. Once again, you’ll ride high above the river along steep slopes dotted with port wine vineyards. On this breathtaking stretch, you’ll approach the main hub of the wine region. Peso da Régua welcomes you with a lively town center, plenty of excellent restaurants, and a relaxed riverside atmosphere.

Today is spent entirely on the boat. Departing Peso da Régua at 10 a.m., you’ll see the Douro from a completely new perspective: vineyards along the river, idyllic riverside villages, cherry trees, and dense forests glide past.
