The essentials at a glance

Discover Alsace on daily cycling excursions from your base in Colmar. Explore charming wine villages like Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr, and Eguisheim along the French Wine Route. Cycle through the green Münster Valley, famous for its cheese, and visit Breisach am Rhein across the Rhine. The route features flat to slightly hilly terrain on bike paths and quiet roads. Daily distances range from 45-70 km. Medieval architecture, half-timbered houses, and culinary delights await in this picturesque region.

Our rally tour in the heart of Alsace will allow you to discover the charms and secrets of Alsatian towns and villages. From the capital of Alsace wines, our bike trips will allow you to appreciate each day, in all tranquility, the multiple facets of this corner of France. Beyond a brilliant nature, the traditional villages of Alsace are full of mysteries to discover. Between the colorful half-timbered houses, the banks of the Rhine, the Vineyards as far as the eye can see and the great local wine houses, each stopover will provide you with exciting discoveries in the heart of Alsatian culture.

Colmar is the starting point of this tour with the day trips spanning out from the town. You initially visit the picturesque wine villages: Ribeauville, Hunawihr, Riquewihr and Kientzheim, with an option to also visit Turckheim and Eguisheim. After a rest day, the Münstertal Valley is on the agenda. The route then goes through the Rhine valley to Breisach, and along the canal cycle path back to Colmar.

  • Colmar: The cityscape is characterised by medieval charm and the architectural heritage of six hundred years. It is worth an extended tour around it.
  • Munster: Cheese lovers can look forward to tasting the delicious Munter, produced in the Munster valley east of the Vosges mountains. In the cheese museum you can learn everything about the soft French cheese!
  • The French Wine Route winds through Alsace, captivating visitors with its sprawling vineyards and picturesque villages like Riquewihr. Insider recommendations include exploring the vineyards away from the main thoroughfare for an authentic taste of the region and visiting Mont Sainte-Odile for breathtaking vistas. Immerse yourself in the culinary delights, culture, and charm of this extraordinary region!

This is a moderately difficult cycle tour. The cycle trails to the Rhine in Breisach are flat, whilst it is slightly hill on the French wine route and in Sundgau. The route leads along cycle paths and side roads with little traffic. Since there is little traffic outside the town centres, you can cycle in peace and enjoy nature.
