Bremen harbour district

From Bremen to Kiel, you'll discover numerous wonders of the North. The magnificent Bremen Town Hall and the Roland, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, are just as noteworthy as the lighthouses of Kiel and the beautiful beaches along the North and Baltic Seas. In Bremerhaven, you’ll find one of Europe’s largest ports, with colossal ships, while Cuxhaven boasts the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Wadden Sea, and Brunsbüttel is home to one of the world's largest canal locks. The North also impresses with its culinary offerings, featuring hearty dishes like kale and of course plenty of fish. With this journey, combine cultural experiences, beach fun, and delightful cuisine with a breathtaking sense of freedom.

Explore the charming old town of Bremen, then cycle through northern Germany over the next eight days. The first stage takes you along the Weser Cycle Path to Bremerhaven, a city steeped in maritime history. Your next destination, Cuxhaven, lies along the North Sea, where you'll experience the beauty of the Wadden Sea. Enjoy the seaside resorts before cycling through the heathlands and taking the Elbe ferry to Glückstadt.

On Day 5 of your tour, you'll pass the mouth of the Kiel Canal at Brunsbüttel, with its impressive locks. The idyllic nature, the northern German charm of the people, and the unique architecture will accompany you through Rendsburg, before the so-called Canal Path leads you to Kiel.

  • Home of the Town Musicians: Bremen is one of Germany's oldest Hanseatic cities. At its heart lies the impressive marketplace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, dominated by the stunning Bremen Town Hall. The charming Schnoor district, with its narrow alleys and historic houses, invites you to explore quaint cafés and craft shops. A must-see is the statue of the Bremen Town Musicians, which brings the famous Brothers Grimm fairy tale to life.
  • The natural spectacle of the Wadden Sea: At low tide, a vast expanse of mudflats and sandbanks is revealed, teeming with shells, crabs, and other marine life. The entire region is an important refuge for migratory birds. Additionally, the picturesque beaches of Cuxhaven, the promenade, and views of the North Sea, along with historic lighthouses and the Captain's House, provide a charming backdrop for both relaxation and adventure.
  • Maritime flair in Kiel: The bustling harbor and the Kiel Fjord offer opportunities for sailing or boat tours, or simply a peaceful view of the sea. The charming old town, with its winding alleys and historic buildings like St. Nikolai Church, invites you to wander and relax. Also worth visiting are the Kiel Castle and the Kiel Aquarium, which offers fascinating insights into marine life.

Each day, you'll cover between 35 and 80 kilometers over six stages through northern Germany. With naturally flat terrain, cycling here feels almost effortless. Our team transports your luggage from one accommodation to the next, while our detailed travel documents guide you to your destination and countless sights along the way.

Between bright blue skies and a brisk sea breeze, a cycling tour through northern Germany offers wide sandy beaches, idyllic heathlands, and cities steeped in maritime history. Savor the region’s unique cuisine and sink your toes into the sand.
