Start in Freiburg, explore Colmar's old town and French Wine Route, visit the world's largest automobile collection in Mulhouse, experience Basel's cultural offerings, and discover thermal springs in Bad Krozingen. Mostly flat terrain in the Rhine plain, slightly hilly along the French Wine Route and in Sundgau. Daily distances average 35-60 km on cycle paths and quiet roads.
Get ready for eight days of pure enjoyment, stunning scenery, and historic architecture! As the Rhine winds through the countryside, creating a natural boundary between France and Germany, you’ll explore beautiful Freiburg and Breisgau on one side, and southern Alsace on the other. Along the French Wine Route, you’ll pass through picturesque village centers and enchanting vineyards, where fine wines are always within reach. Further south, anticipate another urban highlight in Basel, complete with distinctive Swiss specialties.
Flat routes along the Rhine valley, a little bit hilly during the French wine street and in Sundgau. You cycle mostly on bike paths and sometimes on side streets with less traffic. Two stages are slightly hilly.
