Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania and Montenegro
Challenging cycling adventure through Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Montenegro. Ride quiet side roads along the Adriatic coast, through vineyards around Lake Skadar, and Lovcen National Park. Daily stages range 15-90 km with 150-600m elevation gain. Highlights include the Bay of Kotor, historic Herceg Novi and Perast, olive groves near Bar, Albanian village life, and the famous Austro-Hungarian serpentine road descending to Kotor's medieval old town.
On this three-country tour, you will get to know and love this rather unknown part of Europe. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, you cycle through the Trebišnjica Valley towards the Adriatic Sea. In Montenegro, you cycle along the coast through beautiful bays and picturesque, historically valuable villages before crossing the border into Albania and enjoying the natural jewel of Lake Skadar, the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula. As a crowning finale, you will travel from Lovcen National Park along the famous Austro-Hungarian serpentine road from the mountains to the sea to Kotor, where you will be amazed by the beautiful old town on the southernmost fjord in Europe.
The tour takes you on quiet side roads through Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Montenegro. The stages are between 15 km and 90 km long and have an altitude difference of 150 to 600 metres, so there are smaller and sometimes larger climbs to contend with every day. Busy roads and longer climbs are bridged by transfers.
