Arrival in Simrishamn

You’ll cycle through open landscapes, past ancient rock carvings and fields of bright yellow rapeseed. Along the way, discover the impressive Viking-era stone formation Ales Stenar, small local wineries, and the Sandhammaren Nature Reserve. Cozy cafés and long stretches of scenic coastline invite you to pause and take it all in — the perfect way to enjoy the diversity of southern Sweden at a relaxed, leisurely pace.

As you cycle past historic fishing villages and charming local museums, you’ll find plenty of beautiful spots for a refreshing swim. The stretch between Mossby and the port of Hörte runs directly along the water, passing scenic golf courses and relaxing spa resorts. A true highlight of the journey is Smygehuk, Sweden’s southernmost point—a serene location offering expansive views across the sea and the iconic Smyge Lighthouse.

This stage leads you through a region steeped in history, defined by Bronze Age burial mounds and ancient dolmens. In the historic fishing villages, local museums, churches, and centuries-old homes stand as a testament to the legendary herring fishing era. Near Höllviken, it’s well worth taking a detour to the Falsterbo Peninsula, famous for its white sandy beaches, colorful beach huts, and world-class birdwatching opportunities. Keep your eyes on the shoreline—with a little luck, you might even find a piece of Baltic amber washed up on the sand.

The route leads you through open fields and a peaceful cultural landscape, passing local farm shops and scattered hamlets. At Spillepengen, the shallow shoreline provides a vital resting spot for numerous bird species. Heading toward Landskrona, the town of Lomma and the charming pier at Bjärred are perfect places for a refreshing swim. In Löddeköpinge, several historic highlights await just off the route: Borgeby Castle, the VikingaTider open-air museum, and a classic Skåne windmill. For a peaceful stop, the charming small harbor at Barsebäckshamn is ideal for watching boats drift by and soaking in the scenery.

The ride from Landskrona to Helsingborg is a scenic masterpiece, dotted with countless breathtaking sights. Those up for a short excursion can take the ferry to Ven Island and explore it on an idyllic, gently rolling route. You’ll pass Ålabodarna before the historic fishing village of Borstahusen comes into view. A true geological highlight of this stretch is Glumslövs Backar and the Hilleshögs Dalar Nature Reserve—a dramatic, hilly landscape sculpted by ancient glaciers.
