Vineyards, castle ruins, and half-timbered charm: This cycling holiday along the Rhine is perfect for beginners but also offers numerous highlights for experienced travelers. Starting from Koblenz, you'll embark on an eight-day escape from everyday life aboard the MS Olympia, which not only transports you to various stage destinations but also serves as your accommodation. Immerse yourself in the flavors of regional wines, be mesmerized by the landscape of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley and discover the picturesque treasures along the way.

Upon arrival in Koblenz, you'll acquaint yourself with your floating hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening on board. The first leg of the cycling journey leads you along the Rhine to Boppard, followed by a continuation to Oberwesel the next day. Along the route, you'll encounter vineyards, ruins, and fortresses, with a special attraction awaiting just before your destination—the Loreley Rock.

The following cycling stage brings you to Rüdesheim, where you can savor the region's top-notch wines in the charming Drosselgasse. On day 5, you'll pedal through stunning landscapes to Mainz, renowned for its picturesque old town. Continuing along the Rhine Cycle Path, you'll reach Nierstein. While you unwind, the boat will transport you to Worms, your next destination. The final leg of the journey returns you to Nierstein by bike and concludes by boat back to Mainz.

  • The picturesque Upper Middle Rhine Valley: The UNESCO World Heritage Site captivates visitors with its steep vineyards, picturesque castles, and the mystical Loreley. According to legend, a beautiful mermaid named Loreley once sat on the rock, luring passing sailors with her enchanting song.
  • The historic old town of Mainz: The imposing cathedral, the Gutenberg Museum, and the electoral palace define the cityscape of this carnival stronghold. Explore the citadel for views of the River Main, and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming alleyways of the old town, where you can pause for a bite to eat.
  • The wine region around Nierstein: The notable wine village in Rheinhessen is renowned for its premium-quality Riesling. The hills surrounding Nierstein not only provide breathtaking views but also boast a wide array of wineries. Be sure to visit the traditional taverns and indulge in wine tasting to fully experience the region's rich offerings!

The short stages, ranging from 20 to 40 kilometers, are perfect for leisure cyclists. You'll have ample time to unwind on deck and discover charming towns and breathtaking scenery. Along the river, you'll encounter flat cycle paths and magnificent views. And while wine may recharge you, aboard the MS Olympia, you can also enjoy delectable specialties as part of the included full board.
