8 Days / 7 Nights

Kvarner Bay

Along Croatia's Adriatic coast, you’ll discover beautiful cycling routes and enjoy breathtaking views from the MS Sveti Vid. On serene islands like Krk, Cres, and Lošinj, each day brings active adventures, with your charming floating hotel taking you over crystal-clear waters. Along the way, you’ll be enchanted by picturesque beaches, the stunning beauty of the Kvarner Gulf, also known as Kvarner Bay, and historic towns like Rijeka. The icing on the cake of this journey is the delicious local cuisine, exquisite wines, and the heartfelt hospitality that will welcome you at every stop.

The MS Sveti Vid awaits you in the beautiful city of Rijeka, where you’ll embark at midday. Your destination for the day is the island of Krk, where you'll begin your first cycling kilometers from the Njivice harbor. The following day, you’ll immerse yourself in a scenic loop around the island, exploring the town of Vrbnik, the Baška Valley, and the harbor town of Krk. Next, you'll cycle across the island of Rab, followed by an afternoon adventure in the Kalifront Forest Park.

On the island of Pag, the charming towns of Novalja and Mandre are your destinations. Along the way, you’ll pass scenic olive groves, peaceful sheep herds, and rugged stretches of coastline. On day 5, you'll spend about four hours on the water as you cross to the island of Lošinj. Pause in its picturesque coves for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear Adriatic, then enjoy the southern charm of Veli Lošinj and Mali Lošinj. A bike ride over a connecting bridge takes you to the island of Cres, where you’ll explore its beautiful and varied corners. Finally, you’ll sail back to Rijeka, where you can relish the last sunset of your journey, making it the perfect end to an unforgettable holiday.

  • Discover the second largest island in Croatia: Cres is an untouched gem, rich in history and surrounded by breathtaking nature. The island captivates with its diverse landscape, from rugged coastlines and picturesque coves to dense forests and olive groves. Particularly striking is the freshwater Lake Vrana, nestled in the heart of the island, which serves as one of the region's most important sources of drinking water.
  • Fun in the Adriatic Sea: In the Kvarner Bay, take the plunge into the refreshing waters whenever you can – the chances of summer temperatures are very high. In the pristine rocky coves on the islands of Krk, Cres, and Lošinj, not only can you swim to your heart’s content, but you can also enjoy amazing snorkeling. Marvel at the underwater world with its fish, shells, and sea urchins. Are you brave enough to take a leap off the cliffs into the water?
  • Mediterranean flair in the port city of Rijeka: Known for its multicultural history and vibrant atmosphere, Rijeka offers a wealth of sights to explore. Among them is the impressive Trsat Castle complex, perched high above the city, offering breathtaking views of the Kvarner Bay. The charming old town is home to historic buildings such as the Baroque Governor's Palace, the Cathedral of St. Vitus, and the lively Korzo Boulevard.

Cycling on the Croatian islands can be rocky and hilly, so don’t underestimate the up-to-55-kilometer stages. However, the bike and boat tours allow you to tailor the experience to your mood – if cycling feels too strenuous, simply stay aboard and enjoy the sun deck of the MS Sveti Vid. The crew of the tall ship will pamper you with a delightful local half-board, and the charming harbor towns invite you to explore their wonderful restaurants and cafés.

A beach holiday and a cycling holiday at the same time – it’s possible! With a bike & boat tour in Southern Europe, you’ll enjoy the perfect mix of relaxation and activity, Mediterranean charm, idyllic landscapes, as well as maritime fishing villages and historic cities.

Itinerary at a glance

Embarkation between 11:00 and 12:00 in Rijeka. There will be a welcome by the tour guide with welcome drink and snack. In the afternoon, the ship takes you to Njivice on the island of Krk, where you start your first cycling tour. From Njivice you will cycle to Porat and back. You will spend the night in the port of Njivice.

After breakfast, you cycle from Njivice via Čižići to Vrbnik. The old town is situated on a rock on the east coast – just made for souvenir photos! The area is famous for the golden-coloured Zlahtina, a wine from the surrounding vineyards. Strengthened, we head uphill to the highest point of today's stage. From here you have a magnificent view of the Baška valley, which stretches all the way to the southern end of the island. Then you will roll downhill to the harbour town of Krk. Your ship is already waiting for you there. You will spend the night in the harbour of Krk.

A short boat ride takes you to Lopar, on the northern tip of the island of Rab. You will then cycle across the island, whose landscape is very contrasting: the side facing the Adriatic Sea is lushly forested, while the side facing the mainland of Croatia is very barren. The most beautiful town on the island is Rab, your destination, which you reach already around noon. Pretty little towers adorn the old town. After lunch on Status: 11.07.2023 board, you can explore the 1400-hectare Kalifront forest park with its holm oaks that are up to 1,000 years old. After the guided tour of Rab, you can have dinner in one of the restaurants.

Today you will explore the island of Pag by bike and boat in Croatia. First you will sail from Rab to the northernmost tip of Lun and then get on your bike. Olive trees, lush meadows and stone landscapes accompany you to Novalja, where you take a break. Then you cycle on to Mandre to the ship. After lunch, you have the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy sunbathing on deck, discover secluded bays or try the island`s famous Pag sheep`s cheese.

The day begins in a relaxed way with a four-hour crossing to the next island: Lošinj. Enjoy the view of Croatia from the water! On the way in a bay, have a delicious lunch on board. Finally arrived, you cycle through deep green pine forests and past romantic bays. Colourful flowers accompany your cycle tour across one of the sunniest places in Europe! The highlight of the round tour is the beautiful harbour town of Veli Lošinj. Back in Mali Lošinj you have the opportunity to have dinner in one of the numerous restaurants.

Today you will not travel to the island of Cres by boat, but by bike. Both islands are connected by a bridge. You cycle from your ship to Osor, where you cross the swing bridge to the island of Cres. Your destination is the picturesque town of Cres. Around Cres there are beautiful beaches, which remind you of the Caribbean with their azure blue water. You will have enough time in the afternoon to discover them on your own. In the evening, the crew will be waiting for you with the captain`s dinner.

The last stage of your bike and boat holiday in Croatia consists of a round trip from Cres Town to the village of Predošćica. There is a viewpoint where a magnificent view over the Adriatic Sea and the islands of Croatia awaits you. After lunch on board, your ship will drop anchor in a turquoise blue bay. Take advantage of the last bathing opportunity before you head for Rijeka.

The destination of today's bike tour is Novalja, a lively town with a charming center and small cafés. After lunch on board, the journey continues to a bay where an extended swimming break is on the agenda. For the overnight stay, the captain sets course for the islands of Olib or Ilovik. In the evening, the Captain's Dinner takes place on board.

Today we head for the green island of Lošinj, known for its mild climate, fragrant pine forests, and long tradition as a climatic health resort. Overnight stay in the pretty harbor of Cres, where numerous restaurants invite you to linger.

Today's bike tour begins at the port of Cres and first leads to the green lighthouse on the south side of the bay entrance. We then continue to the red lighthouse on the north side before cycling back to the ship along the sea. Lunch is served on board in Cres, after which the bikes are loaded back onto the ship. We then head for a bay in the north of the island – a wonderful opportunity to dive into the crystal-clear water once more and enjoy the sea before returning to Rijeka. Opportunity for dinner in Rijeka and overnight stay.

Disembarkation takes place after breakfast until 09:00. Afterwards you start your individual journey home.
