Mecklenburg Lakes

The lovingly restored historic centre of Waren and the ‚Müritzeum‘ offer a lot of interesting things to do in the afternoon.

You cycle from Waren on the Western shores of Lake Müritz to Röbel. The route leads you on flat to slightly hilly terrain. You often have a wide view over the enormous water surface. The tour can be extended to the Southern tip of the ‚Small Sea‘. In the afternoon a passenger ship takes you back to Waren..

You cycle around both Lake Kölpinsee and Lake Fleesensee. On this stage you can visit the resort „Land Fleesensee“, the island town of Malchow and the „Damerower Werder“ bison and nature reserve.  From Malchow you can take a boat back to Waren autonomously and thus shorten today’s stage.

Experience the natural scenery of the national park, which is pristine in many places. Watch ospreys or enjoy the diverse flora. The view from the Käfling mountains over the countryside is glorious.  

Explore small tranquil villages and dreamy forest lakes which invite you for a swim. The vast forests of the Serrahn part of the Müritz National Park stretch southeast of Neustrelitz. In the core of the protected area you can experience the natural development of beech forests in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today you roam through the centre of the Mecklenburg small lake area. Almost all lakes are connected by narrow canals or narrow rivers. In many places you can explore the lake district by canoe. 1001 swimming opportunities await you here.

You cycle back to Waren through the Northern part of Müritz National Park. In Ankershagen you can visit the Heinrich-Schliemann-Museum (archeologist). Continue on the long-distance cycle route „Berlin-Kopenhagen“ to Waren.
