Cycle break in the vineyards

Do you know there are three imperial cathedrals on the Rhine? If not, no problem! With the Eurobike cycle tour you can explore the romantic Rhine and learn more about the charm of the region. The impressive imperial cathedrals in Speyer, Worms and Mainz line the cycle paths along the largest German river.

Enjoy the southern flair and warm wind on two wheels. Blossoming almond trees and exotic fruit enchant with their wonderful scent. Between historical cities, extensive vineyards and southern atmosphere you will experience the region with all your senses.

But that’s not all: The university city of Heidelberg, Nierstein and Neustadt form further fantastic highlights! Wine lovers take note! Oppenheim is considered a Gothic city of wine. So if you are looking for a slam dunk, you will definitely find it in this region.

The journey begins with a leisurely evening in the oldest German university city, Heidelberg. The next day, you will travel on two wheels to Worms, where you will be able to admire the 12th-century cathedral and the Martin Luther Monument.

While you enjoy cycling along the idyllic paths along the Rhine, the city of wine will already be on your mind. In the region around Nierstein you can enjoy a glass of the best Riesling and let enjoyment of the landscape run wild.

There are four stages in front of you on days four to seven. From Rüdesheim via Alzey and Grünstadt to Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Beautiful wine-producing villages and cultural highlights make the region a great place to live. You’ll find the third cathedral in Speyer on the route.

  • Mainz Cathedral: On the way to Rüdesheim you pass the Rhineland Palatinate state capital of Mainz, where the second cathedral stands. After visiting the Gutenberg Museum, you continue towards Rüdesheim.
  • Neustadt Wine Route: Fantastic winegrowing villages, vineyards as far as the eye can see and lovely cultural towns sit on the wine route. Discover the largest wine barrel in the world in Bad Dürkheim and treat yourself to a glass or two.
  • Indulgence: If you plan on taking a trip in September, you must visit the world’s largest wine festival, the Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt.

This nine-day tour is one for ambitious cyclists. The routes are flat along the Rhine and the Neckar. In the winegrowing areas you’ll need endurance and stamina. The slightly hilly terrain will put the muscles to work. Every day, you will cycle between 40 and 55 kilometres by bike.

Culture and pleasure lovers take note! If you are in the mood for a holiday with cultural highlights, culinary delights and dreamlike nature, then the cycle tour ‘Thee Imperial Cathedrals on the Rhine’ is the perfect choice.
