Cycling tours to the Salzburg Festival 2023

Unforgettable cycling experiences and unique cultural bliss on the ‚World Stage‘

Salzburg is always worth a visit. Nestled between Mount Untersberg and Mount Gaisberg and with a view of the majestic backdrop of the Alps, Salzburg attracts with world-famous sights in every season. But when the city dresses up for the festival season, the entire world looks to Salzburg. Since during the six festival weeks in July and August (20th July – 31st August 2023), everything revolves around outstanding culture, which is second to none. And all this since 1920. The Salzburg Festival is the world’s most important festival of classical music and performing arts.

Hugo von Hofmannsthal, the poet of „Everyman“, described Salzburg as „the heart of the centre of Europe“. Salzburg, ‚the heart‘, is surrounded by beautiful nature. From the city of Mozart it is only a short hop to the Trumer Lake District, the Salzkammergut region and some of the most stunning mountain worlds in the Alps. It is not without reason that many of our cycle tours start or end in Salzburg or lead around the UNESCO World Heritage city. Why not combine your cycling holiday with a cultural visit to Salzburg during the festival and let yourself be carried away by its unique, world-famous splendor.

Experience for yourself how the entire city becomes a stage and with its Baroque architecture itself already features the most beautiful scenery. Be there when „Everyman“ captivates the audience, marvel at the performance of the stars and starlets in their elegant robes and feel the special flair that captivates the city during the festival season.

See you in Salzburg in summer!

Presenting the Salzburg Festival

A festival for „Everyman“

The premiere of „Everyman“ on Salzburg Cathedral Square in August 1920 laid the foundation for the world-famous festival. Founded more than 100 years ago by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Max Reinhardt and Richard Strauss, they are magnets more than ever. Every summer in July and August they fascinate more than 250.000 visitors from all over the world. Even if the „Everyman“ performances are the hallmark of the Salzburg Festival, over 200 events take place in the six weeks of the festival as part of a top-class drama, opera and concert program. Especially Mozart fans get their money’s worth, because the artist was born in Salzburg. The magnificent Salzburg Festival Hall, the historic ‚Felsenreitschule‘, the Mozarteum and of course the imposing Cathedral Square serve as venues and backdrops. But there are also many smaller, pretty squares in and around Salzburg that invite you to experience art & culture.
