Rabenstein Castle on the Mur

The morning of a cycle holiday on the Mur Cycle Path begins with a look out of your hotel window. What do you see? Green hills and forests, for which Styria is famous, and small charming Austrian towns and villages. A little further along the route you meet the Mur every day and it accompanies you to Bad Radkersburg. The special thing about it: you’re always travelling a little downhill on the Mur! The Austrian part of the Mur Cycle Path is 330 kilometres long and begins in St Michael in Lungau in Salzburg. On the seventh day of your cycling holiday you can watch the landscape change – from the mountainous Lungau to the lush green hills of Styria.

From Salzburg to the South Styrian thermal region, from Lungau mountain cheese to Styrian pumpkin seed oil: go on a week of cycling along the Mur Cycle Path with Eurobike. The bike tour without luggage stops at the best spots on the path, so you can take in all the cultural and culinary offerings. How about a visit to the beer museum in Murau? Or a day dedicated to art in Graz with the famous Murinsel? Or would you like an afternoon in one of the cosy taverns? The seven-day cycling holiday has been expertly put together by the Eurobike team, so you won’t miss anything worth seeing!

  • Quiet places and a lively city: On the cycle tour along the Mur Cycle Path you can enjoy both – small towns and the pulsating state capital of Graz.
  • Enjoy the ‘Buschenschanken’ like the Styrians do: In the typical Buschenschanken you can taste the regional delicacies such as cider and famous Brettljause with roast pork, cheese, pumpkin seed spread and black bread. Numerous Buschenschanken are right on the cycle path!

Your cycling holiday begins with your own journey to St. Michael im Lungau. You can get your high-quality bike in this tranquil town in the Salzburger Land. Over the next few days you will continue to move eastwards before your cycle tour ends in Bad Radkersburg on the Slovenian border. The daily rides are always on cycle paths and are between 25 and 65 kilometres long, but are usually easy to master. Recommendation: Extend your holiday in Styria with a visit to the Heiltherme Bad Redkersburg. The mineral-rich water is a blessing for strained muscles.
