The former seat of the Teutonic Order captivates visitors with its imposing castle, charming old town and extensive spa gardens – a delightful end to this varied stage

The final stage of your journey takes you from Bad Mergentheim onwards through the charming Tauber Valley to the medieval imperial city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. First, you’ll cycle via Weikersheim, with its magnificent Renaissance castle, and through the idyllic wine-growing villages of the Taubergrund. The route continues past Röttingen and Creglingen, where it’s particularly worth stopping for a break. Visit the historic Lindleinturm, a rare example of 18th-century village housing, or explore the Thimble Museum with its extraordinary collection dedicated to sewing from all over the world. Passing through the gently rolling hills of the Tauber Valley, you will finally reach Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The fully preserved medieval old town, with its towers, gates and winding alleys, provides the perfect finale to your cycling tour.
