Record year after Corona
After the Corona years of 2020 and 2021, we were able to look forward to a particularly successful Eurobike anniversary year in 2022. As a result, we can not only look back on a very successful time overall, with around 80 colleagues joining us on the trip, our company outing is also bigger than ever before. This means that a lot of fun, interesting contacts and many beautiful moments are pre-programmed.
Off we go by bike in Carinthia
This year's company outing takes us to beautiful Carinthia, where we pick up our bikes directly after the bus ride from Obertrum to Spittal. After all the bikes have been properly adjusted thanks to the perfect on-site support, we set off on the Alpe-Adria cycle path in the direction of Villach. The ride takes us along the Drau cycle path, where we enjoy the wonderful view and the autumnal colours of nature. In between, there is a short detour to Paternion. After having lunch there, we set off well fortified to cover the second stage of the total 40 kilometre route. Arriving in Villach, we can already pick up our bags and suitcases thanks to the luggage transfer and after a short walk we finally reach our hotel. There we end the evening with good food and a glass or two of wine or gin.
Hiking at the foot of the Mirnock
After a rather short night for most, we continue directly by bus to Döbriach on Lake Millstätter See, where we hike the magnificent panoramic loop at the foot of the Mirnock. After a climb of around 200 metres through a sea of colourful leaves in the forest, we reach the first vantage point, which offers us a breathtaking view of Döbriach, the villages in the surrounding area, and of course Lake Millstätter See. From there we continue through the forest until we reach a pasture with alpacas, cows and sheep, to the delight of the whole team. After the animals have been sufficiently examined and photographed, the path leads us to the second vantage point, where we enjoy the fantastic view of the lake in full length and the autumnal nature. This is followed by the descent towards Döbriach. Once in Döbriach, the company outing comes to an end with an excellent lunch before we head back to Obertrum.
Culinary delights in Carinthia
Besides the autumnal nature, we were also spoiled with food and drink. Already on the first day, we had a delicious menu for lunch. The culinary highlight of the day, however, was the exquisite dinner, which was served in three courses at Palais 26 in Villach. Among the starters on the menu were burrata with tomatoes and basil, as well as goat cheese with a turnip variation. For the main course, we were spoilt for choice between pork loin steak with grilled vegetables, pike perch fillet with white wine risotto and chickpeas with vegetables - not an easy decision, as each of the dishes tasted delicious. The meal was rounded off with a sweet dessert before the hotel bar was opened. Another highlight was the lunch served on the last day. Among other things, an excellent goulash from the hotel's own beef was served.
