After a short trip along the rivers Salzach und Saalach, you will be heading into Bavaria. Do not miss the chance to try more beer specialities at the 'Schönramer Brewery’. After this refreshing Bavarian treat, the tour swiftly leads you via lake Abtsdorfer back to the river Salzach into Austria. After visiting the 'Silent Night’ chapel you arrive at Franking via the Salzachauen. Here a unique experience awaits: a 'beer bath’ - the crowning glory at the end of this day.

You cycle through the nature reserve 'Ibmer Moor’ to the Benedictine abbey at Michaelbeuern. The path leads over a hill called Haunsberg and down to the Trumer lakes. Here you will not only find the 'Creativ Brauerei’, but also the private brewery 'Privatbrauerei Trumer’ - two of the most award-winning beer producers in Austria. In the shady beer garden of the Brewery Inn they offer unlimited supply of the 'amber nectar’ flowing from a beer fountain on special occasions.

Cycling along lake Obertrum and the Mattsee, today’s section leads into a beautiful region with rolling hills called the 'Innviertel’. Your first break is possible in the private brewery 'Privatbrauerei Vitzthum’ in Uttendorf. This place has practiced the precious art of beer brewing since 1600. You then continue along the river Inn to Braunau. From there it is only a few more kilometers to today’s final destination and home of the well known 'Zwickl beer’, which is brewed in the 'Raschhofer Brauerei’.

The cycle path along the river Inn is stunningly scenic and leads via Obernberg and Reichersberg to the Baroque town of Schärding. Along with the 'Baumgartner’ brewery, the 'Beer pharmacy’ and a Brewery Inn called 'zur Bums`n’, the incredibly pretty town square that is characteristic of the Inn-Salzach style and that features the famous 'Silberzeile’ invites you to take a long break.

On a long downhill descent the bike tour runs along the river Inn into Passau where three rivers meet. Back in Bavaria, the beer is never in short supply. In the course of one day countless thirsty cyclists dwell in the shady cool beer gardens of the 'Bavarian Löwenbrauerei’, the 'Hacklberg’ brewery, the wheat beer brewery 'Andorfer’ and last but not least the 'Innstadt’ brewery. However a scenic extension on the cycle path along the Danube should not be missed. It is only approx. 30 km until your end destination Engelhartszell, which is home to the 'Trappistenbeer’ brewery. Individual return journey via boat to Passau.
