Cyclists traverse the Salzach and Inn valleys, passing Zell am See, Lofer, Burghausen, and Schärding. The mainly flat or gently hilly terrain covers approximately 40-60 km daily on signposted, asphalted paths. Highlights include the Seisenberg Gorge, Burghausen's castle complex, and baroque architecture.
The Hohe Tauern National Park gives its name to this beautiful cycle path. The views of the snow-capped peaks will delight you right from the very start. The Salzach, Saalach and Inn river valleys will guide you past a wide range of flora and fauna, authentic cultural and culinary delights as well as past truly genuine customs. This impressive diversity offered up by the Tauern Cycle Path ensures that all your senses are truly awakened.
The Tauern Cycle Path is continuously signposted and mainly on quiet, asphalted cycle paths and country roads. The route is mainly flat or slightly hilly with some short ascents.
