The athletic route leads through the Leutasch and Inn valleys to South Tyrol, crossing the challenging Reschen Pass with 1,200 meters descent to Merano. Highlights include Lake Starnberg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald, medieval Glurns, and the wine region around Lake Caldaro. The tour follows beautiful bike paths and small side roads, mostly asphalted with some natural road sections.

On this beautiful journey starting from the Bavarian capital over the Resia Pass to Lake Garda, you will enjoy crossing the Alps. Wonderful views accompany you on the way along Lake Starnberg. The historical Lüftlmalerei on the house facades in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald will inspire you. You will be amazed by the views of the Zugspitze, Karwendel and Ortler. And a smile on your face will be conjured up by the superbly developed cycle path in South Tyrol and, to crown it all, the descent to Lake Garda. So diverse can be a crossing of the Alps.
"Griasdi Minga!" – You kick off your cycling vacation in the Bavarian capital, where you gather strength for the days ahead with Kasspatzn, roast pork, and Obatzten. Also, indulge in tasting the local beer varieties before the first stage takes you to Lake Starnberg. Following a restful night in Murnau am Staffelsee, you pedal to Garmisch-Partenkirchen with its beautiful historic cityscape and onward to Mittenwald.
The Leutasch Gorge takes you across the border into Austria, leading you through the picturesque Inntal valley. Near the Reschen Pass, you briefly cross the Swiss border and continue cycling into South Tyrol. Castles, palaces, vineyards, and orchards line the route to Trento. Your tour concludes at Lake Garda – there, you toast with a glass of local wine and treat yourself to a hearty plate of pasta..
The Lüftlmalerei in Mittenwald: The tranquil town is considered one of the centers of this traditional art form. In this process, facades are adorned with elaborate paintings. The colorful sequences almost appear as if they are from a storybook. The best way to appreciate these artworks is by taking a stroll through the village.
The picturesque city center of Merano: The mountain panoramas in close proximity and the delightful old town give the city in South Tyrol a truly special charm. A visit to the gardens of Trauttmannsdorff Castle is just as recommended as a leisurely stroll along the spa promenade. Get to know the wonderful corners of the city.
The glistening Lake Garda: The numerous villas along the shore exude sophistication, while in the lake, water sports enthusiasts can enjoy themselves. Join them and take a refreshing dip in the cool waters. Picturesque villages line the famous body of water, including Sirmione, Riva, and Torbole. For those who haven't had their fill of sporting activities, you can embark on an ascent to Monte Baldo – the highest point around Lake Garda.

Experience the Bavarian mentality, culinary and culture at its finest in Munich. After stops in the Leutasch Valley and Inn Valley, you will finally reach South Tyrol. Castles, palaces and Lake Resia line the road to Merano and on to Lake Garda.
The capital of Bavaria awaits its visitors with numerous sights (English Garden, City Hall, Hofbräuhaus,…).
From Munich through Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. From Starnberg along the cycle path directly on the lakeshore to Seeshaupt. On beautiful paths through quaint Bavarian villages past the Easter Lakes and the Riegsee to Murnau am Staffelsee.
Through the nature reserve Murnauer following the river Loisach to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Continue along the beautifully landscaped bike path to the Isar River. Through the sunny high valley with magnificent panoramas, you cycle to Mittenwald. Here you should definitely take a break and stroll through the town decorated with Lüftlmalerei. Spectacularly, you then continue through to Leutaschtal to Austria. Along the Leutascher Bach, you will cycle through the beautiful valley to your overnight stay.
Today it's over to the Inn Valley. You leave Leutasch on a gently rolling country road before an eight-kilometer descent to Telfs. Along the former stroll path, you cycle along the Inn River and thus reach Stams with its baroque Cistercian monastery. Continuing along the Inn cycle path, you cycle past Imst and the Zams monastery to Landeck.
Today's royal stage takes you steadily uphill along the Inn cycle trail to Martina in Switzerland. From here, the route continues over the Resia Pass to Italy (the Resia Pass can also be bridged by bus from Landeck for an additional charge). For the certainly demanding climb, you will be rewarded with a magnificent mountain panorama.
The completely preserved medieval city wall of Glurns is the first highlight. Via the Montani ruins through Schlanders, you cycle down to Merano. Castles and palaces lie along or high above the path. You can enjoy views of the impressive Ortler massif and the Stilfserjoch while cycling. Via Lana, Eppan and the Lake Caldaro, the bike path leads you to the charming wine village of Ora.
On the Adige cycle path, it is easy to cycle to the impressive Trento. The route continues, via the old Tyrolean border town of Rovereto, to Mori. From here the tour heads west towards Lake Garda. In Mori, you will taste the famous pistachio ice cream at the Gelateria Bologna. After a short ascent at the small Passo S. Giovanni (150 m), the descent to the lake follows to Torbole or Riva.
Cycling is on beautiful bike paths and small side roads, main roads only on short sections. Small climbs must be cycled almost every day. Challenging is the Resia Pass, then there are about 1,200 meters of descent to Merano. The route is mainly asphalted, some longer sections also on well passable natural roads.
