Based in the 4-star Hotel Panoramic Plaza in Abano Terme, this cycling tour explores Northern Italy's highlights. Daily rides of 30-55 km lead through the Euganean Hills National Park with its volcanic cones, to Chioggia (Little Venice) with its canals and bridges, the Palladian city of Vicenza, and Padua with its waterways. Medium difficulty with mostly flat terrain and short climbs in the hills. Includes transfer to Chioggia and train journey from Vicenza.
You will cycle through an area where even the Romans spent time to relax. Here you will not only find a diverse landscape, but also many cultural treasures. In cities such as Padua and Vicenza you will cycle along the traces of the Middle Ages. In “Little Venice” – as Chioggia is called because of its canals and bridges – you will enjoy Italian flair. The beautiful Po Valley, where lots of tasty fruits and vegetables are grown, is very impressive. The Eugenia Hills – the alleged source of the thermal water and growing area of outstanding wines – make sure you do not get bored on your trip. The day trips are rather easy and mainly on flat roads. Only in the Eugenia Hills there are some short climbs to be tackled. You will find yourself on quiet side roads and cycle paths. Mostly, the roads are asphalted. In cities you will sometimes come across more traffic.
