Cycle break on a hill with a view of Zernez and a railway bridge

Switzerland and Austria are a dream team when it comes to panoramic cycling holidays. The cycle tour from St. Moritz to Innsbruck couldn’t be more varied – and yet the individual daily stages work together. Your path takes you from elegant St. Moritz over the Engadine to Innsbruck, the city with the golden roof, over eight days. Mountain panoramas alternate with the lush forests of the Swiss National Park, and the cultural offerings are also impressive. And the culinary indulgence? It plays a very big role in the Engadine and also in Tyrol. You have the delightful choice between the famous Engadine Nusstorte, Bündnerfleisch, Tyrolean Gröstl and numerous other specialities.

The panoramas along the Inn are astonishing and await you on an eight-day cycling holiday between St. Moritz and Innsbruck. Stand still and let the impressions sink in – and take them home with you as lasting memories. The lakeside cycle tour is particularly idyllic right at the beginning of the tour as it takes you to the Inn’s origin.

  • Picturesque Engadin: The villages of the Engadin, such as Zernez, Susch or Lavin seem to have sprung from an old novel, just like the deep green forests and valleys. The fashionable St. Moritz shines in its very own splendour.
  • Warm-hearted Tyrol: On the fifth day of your cycling holiday your cross the border between Switzerland and Austria and immediately feel the Tyrolean hospitality.
  • Cycle paths along the Inn: The Inn rises at the Maloja Pass in the Engadine and flows into the Danube in Passau. You don’t go as far as the river, but you cycle along it a bit to Innsbruck.

At the beginning of the trip, you can expect the elegant atmosphere of St. Moritz and a round trip to the surrounding lakes. Day after day you cycle a little further towards the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck. The daily stages are between 35 and 65 kilometres long and mostly lead on beautiful cycle paths. There are only two to three medium climbs that are easy to master with a good physical condition. Eurobike will send you the route material before you go on holiday so that you can start your cycle tour well-armed. Then you can begin your adventure relaxed!

Tip: This trip can also be booked in a seven-day variation, without the lake cycle tour in the beginning.

An artist with brush and colours, inspired by impressionism, would need weeks for this tour. There would be too many sensual impressions for the artist and the magnificent panoramas of the picturesque Engadin villages like Zernez, Susch and Lavin, as well as of the wide valleys of Upper Engadin, and of the great forests of the Swiss National Park would be too impressive. Then, suddenly, the scene changes: Welcome to Tyrol! The best place to enjoy conviviality. And also your final destination Innsbruck, a culture city as well as an Olympic city, will impress you with a different cityscape. The artist becomes a bon viveur.
