Family-friendly cycle tour along the Adige River from Resia to Bolzano through South Tyrol. Well-maintained cycle paths and quiet roads, mostly flat or slightly downhill terrain. Daily stages between 20-45 km. Highlights include Lake Resia with its famous church tower, Churburg Castle with the world's largest private armoury, AquaForum water park in Latsch, the spa town of Merano, and Bolzano's Archaeology Museum featuring Ötzi the Iceman.
Snow-covered glaciers, breathtaking views from high peaks, wild streams and glistening lakes, the Adige-cycle path is considered one of South Tyrol’s most stunning cycle routes. That is why along your cycling holiday from Lake Resia as far as Bolzano you are accompanied by fragrant apple blossom meadows, fertile fruit plantations and picturesque villages. You cycle along well-maintained cycle paths along the river Adige from the Resia-pass through the nature park ”Stilfserjoch”, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the entire Alpine region, as far as the basin of Merano. As varied as South Tyrol’s scenery – as varied is also your cycling holiday: you discover placid biotopes, eventful outdoor pools and exciting palaces as well as the wonderful, regional cuisine.
You cycle mainly on well-maintained and -developed cycle paths or on roads with very little traffic leading mostly along the river Adige. Routes can be cut short by train rides.
The cycling stages are between 20 and 45 km long, the topography is mainly flat or slightly downhill, with only a few slightly hilly sections. We recommend that children have a good basic level of fitness and good cycling skills (including safety in traffic).
