The cultural region of Alsace offers everything your heart desires: Alsatian cuisine, high-quality wines, a delightful and varied landscape and an unhurried way of life. Indeed, the land between the Rhine and the Vosges Mountains, between the Jura and the Palatinate Forest, has a fascinating landscape: the lovely rolling hills along the wine routes, punctuated by numerous picturesque villages and mysterious ruins, alternate with the wide flat alluvial planes of the Rhine. It is a particularly attractive landscape for cyclists because the Alsace region has the largest distance of cycle paths anywhere in France. We offer you an interesting and varied individual cycle tour through the Alsace. Allow yourself to be pampered by beautiful scenery and good food. Cycle along quiet roads and cycle paths to the cultural highlights. Enjoy your holiday; everything has been organized for you.
On Eurobike's luggage-free cycling tour, you'll set out for eight days to explore Alsace. The cycling tour stops at the most beautiful places the region has to offer: Strasbourg, Riquewihr, Colmar and Ottmarsheim are just some of the towns where you stay overnight. In between? Pleasantly flat bike paths with few climbs, idyllic rest areas and mysterious castle ruins.
The cycle tour begins with your own journey to Strasbourg and ends on the eighth day in this largest city in Alsace. In between, you will spend some sporty and active days on your bike, covering a total of 320 kilometres by bike. Every day you cycle between 25 and 70 kilometres on easy cycle paths - often even in the vineyards. A short stop at one of the excellent wineries is well worthwhile!
The cycle tour can also be booked in a shorter version. Simply ask the competent Eurobike team for tips on the Alsace tour! The Eurobike extra: We will send you extensive tour material, also as GPS data, before you start your journey. For an even more comfortable travelling experience.

You leave Strasbourg on the cycle path along the Rhone-Rhine Canal, and reach Osthouse and Selestat respectively, both rich in remarkable architectural heritage.
After visiting the beautiful baroque abbey of Ebersmunster, you will pass through the traditional villages of the Ried. This area, bordered by the Ill and the Rhine, is criss-crossed by several waterways where a rich flora and fauna thrive. After following the canal, you reach Colmar, a city of art with an exceptionally well-preserved historic centre.
The cycle route takes you from Colmar to Neuf-Brisach, the Vauban stronghold, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You continue south to reach the village of Ottmarsheim with its beautiful 12th century Romanesque church. Through the Hardt forest and along the Rhone-Rhine canal, you reach Mulhouse, a city that dynamically combines tradition and modernity. This industrial and technical city awaits you with its famous automobile museum.
The route leads to Guebwiller, a wine village at the foot of the Grand Ballon. You will first drive to Ungersheim to visit the "Ecomusee d'Alsace", a real open-air museum organised like an early 20th century Alsatian village. The Murbach Monastery, which was one of the richest and most influential in the Holy Roman Empire, could be your favourite of the day.
You will travel along the Wine Route, a mythical route with exceptional landscapes and wine towns enlivened by passionate winemakers. At the foot of the Vosges Mountains are the incredibly charming villages that have established the reputation of Alsace's Grands Crus: Eguisheim, Turckheim, Kaysersberg and Riquewihr. They are among the most beautiful and well-known villages on the Wine Route.
Still along the wine route, you will discover the villages of Hunawihr, Ribeauville, Bergheim, Andlau and its Romanesque abbey before arriving in Obernai or Barr. Each of these villages offers many opportunities for visits dedicated to biodiversity, culture and local folk arts and traditions.
In Rosheim, the Alsatian Romanesque experience reaches a climax with the 12th century church of St. Peter & Paul and then you follow the Canal de la Bruche to Strasbourg. Departure.
You cycle mostly on bike paths, tarred agricultural roads and sometimes on side streets with less traffic. The stages in the vineyards are a little bit hilly.
